Jennifer Benjamin, owner of Family First Home Companions, and Keith Billstein, Community Outreach Coordinator at Family First Home Companions, attended the LI chapter of Case Management Society of America on Wednesday, August 9th held at Jewel Restaurant in Melville, NY.
CMSA is a not-for-profit association dedicated to the support and development of the profession of case management.
The meeting on August 9th featured a presentation by Laura Ostrowsky, RN, CCM, MUP on Palliative Care. “The event was very informative and the presentation brought a lot of clarity to what the different levels of Palliative Care are and how patients can benefit from these services”, said Jennifer Benjamin.

Jennifer has specialized training in Alzheimer’s disease through the Long Island Alzheimer’s Association and the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation.She also volunteered her time with the Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center of Long Island for 3 years by providing cognitive stimulation to an Alzheimer’s patient group.
Jennifer educates the community about elder care and speaks to caregiver support groups, senior centers, and at professional organizations.Topics include home safety, effective strategies for family caregiving, elder care planning, and awareness about elder abuse.
