Family First Brings Smiles to the Residents at Island Nursing and Rehabilitation
Family First Home Companions sponsored comedian, Howard Newman from Jokesercise, to give a comic performance for the residents at Island Nursing and Rehabilitation on Tuesday, December 10th in Holtsville, NY. Howard brought many laughs and smiles to about thirty of the nursing homes’ residents during his one-hour performance by telling jokes that incorporated various plays on words. For example, one of Howard’s jokes stated, “after waiting to see the doctor for over an hour, the doctor said I’m sorry about the ‘wait’. Howard replied, ‘well doc, you’re not so slim yourself’!” In addition to jokes, Howard also engaged the group in a sing along to Frank Sinatra songs.
Family First Home Companions’ owner, Jennifer Benjamin, was also at the event and introduced the residents to the company’s services. “Howard had everyone laughing and smiling for the entire hour that he performed. Seeing their happy expressions made it all worthwhile”, said Jennifer.
