Ann Marie has been nominated employee of the month for August 2016. She has been working as a Senior Companion at Family First Home Companions since 2012 after having several years of 
experience working in the home care field and is certified as a home health aide. Ann Marie has worked with the same client for the last four years, Margaret, and has stayed committed and dedicated to her position. Ann Marie covers additional shifts whenever needed and always ensures that her client is well cared for and has what she needs.
Not only is Ann Marie a dedicated and loyal employee, she’s a genuinely kind, compassionate person. She puts her clients first and provides attentive, meticulous care. Ann Marie carefully instructs her relief caregiver on how to care for Margaret and explains what she specifically likes and dislikes. She’s well-versed in dementia care and knowledgeable when it comes to the personal care and well-being of her clients.

Jennifer has specialized training in Alzheimer’s disease through the Long Island Alzheimer’s Association and the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation.She also volunteered her time with the Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center of Long Island for 3 years by providing cognitive stimulation to an Alzheimer’s patient group.
Jennifer educates the community about elder care and speaks to caregiver support groups, senior centers, and at professional organizations.Topics include home safety, effective strategies for family caregiving, elder care planning, and awareness about elder abuse.
