Marie has been a Senior Companion at Family First Home Companions since April 2016 after having several years of experience assisting disabled adults in a residential home.  Marie is a very high energy companion.  She is always willing to help with not only her current clients but when the office needs someone to cover a shift in a pinch.  She is reliable, outgoing, and all her clients adore her.  She goes above and beyond the call of duty to find things her clients would enjoy doing. She is easy to talk to and very versatile with accommodating their needs.

Marie has extensive experience in working with those afflicted with dementia and was selected to participate in a special caregiver event at Peconic Bay Medical Center to assist a group of older adults with dementia by providing activities and stimulation while their family members attended an event.

Marie is a dedicated, compassionate caregiver who is always willing to help.  “We are very glad to have her on our team”, says owner, Jennifer Benjamin.

Jennifer Benjamin has a Masters degree in Business Administration, a graduate Certificate in Geriatric Care Management, is a Certified Dementia Practitioner and is co-founder of Family First Home Companions .With a background in human resources and business management she helped to build a company that is founded on professionalism, integrity, compassion and know-how.

Jennifer has specialized training in Alzheimer’s disease through the Long Island Alzheimer’s Association and the Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation.She also volunteered her time with the Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center of Long Island for 3 years by providing cognitive stimulation to an Alzheimer’s patient group.

Jennifer educates the community about elder care and speaks to caregiver support groups, senior centers, and at professional organizations.Topics include home safety, effective strategies for family caregiving, elder care planning, and awareness about elder abuse.
